Masters Tips
Being the world’s most premier golf event, The Masters Golf Tournament is a special experience if you are able to attend. Whether you spend a lot of time on the course or off it, surveying the city of Augusta, you can be sure our tips will be useful to make the most of your time in the Garden City.
On The Course
- Bring your own chair
- There aren’t any seating options on the course itself. You have to bring your own collapsible chair if you would like to sit down to observe the festivities. We suggest that you get to the course early and reserve your spot at whatever hole you wish.
- Souvenir purchases
- You’re going to want to make sure you plan your souvenir purchases carefully. There is a sweet spot for buying merchandise that won’t have you carrying it around all day or miss out on buying something you wanted by going to the gift shops too late. Purchasing something early on during the week gives you the best chance of snagging the merch you want. We also suggest mailing home your merch if you live far away – no need to pack it and tow all of your new goodies home with you.
- No phones allowed!
- That’s right, no cell phones or cameras allowed when you attend the tournament rounds. There are, however, payphones on the grounds if you need to get a hold of somebody outside of the tournament. If you wish to commemorate your time at Augusta National with a photo, you can have your photo taken at the picture line with the magnolias, masters logo, and clubhouse in the background.
- Pairings sheet
- If you want to stay informed on the day’s schedule, make sure you grab a pairings sheet on your way in. This will inform you of the tee times and how the golfers are paired up with each other for the day.
Off the Course
- The local food
- On and off the course, be sure to sample the local food Augusta has to offer. Good food is the catalyst for the good times every April. Augusta’s famous pimento cheese sandwiches are a favorite at the tournament. The city of Augusta offers a wide variety of cuisines that are sure to wow your tastebuds.
