The Home Rental Tradition

The founders of the Masters Golf Tournament had no idea the event they created nearly 90 years ago would become the world's most prestigious sporting event. They never dreamed that hundreds of thousands of Patrons would descend on Augusta, Georgia, to watch a golf tournament on the rolling hills of an old fruit tree nursery Bobby Jones turned into a golf course.

As the crowds at the tournament grew and the eyes of the world turned to Augusta the first week of April every year, the event essentially outgrew Augusta. There were not many hotels and motels in Augusta and finding places for the visitors to stay became a major problem. In a unique example of true Southern hospitality, Augustans rolled out the red carpet and welcomed visitors from all over the world into their homes, creating one of the many traditions of the tournament.

Over time, Masters Housing became a major industry and the Augusta National and the Chamber of Commerce partnered to create a method by which visitors could rent homes and locals could rent their homes. Masters Housing is the only housing bureau sanctioned by the Augusta National.

The processes have evolved over the years and it is now easier than ever to find a home or provide a home for rental.

Preparing to List Your Home

One of the first things you will need to do is determine how much you want to charge visitors to rent your home. Rental rates are generally determined by standard criteria such as property size, location, floor plan, etc. As with any rental property, the quality of the furnishings and decor along with amenities such as pools, number of TVs, and a billiard room will enhance the home's rental value. Rates vary from $600 for four nights for a one-bedroom condo to $11,000 and up for a five bedroom luxury home in an upscale neighborhood. Our experts will help you determine your rental rate if you desire.

Once that's done, you will need current photographs of your home. High quality photos help ensure that your home is represented at its best. Listing Your Home

Luckily, listing your home is as easy as 1-2-3: visit our website and click List Your Home to create an account, add the information about your home and leave the rest to us.

Once you are registered and start listing your homes, it's basically the same as listing your home to sell. You will provide all the information about your home and then upload your photos with a few clicks of the mouse.

Our Fees

A $30 processing fee is due upon receipt of application and a 8% listing fee is due once your home is rented. For better results, you can upgrade your listing to be featured on the home page for an additional fee. You can also schedule a virtual tour or order professional photographs for an additional fee as well.
